Mattias Samuelsson Makes NHL Debut for Buffalo Sabres

On April 18, Mattias Samuelsson was called up by the Buffalo Sabres and played in his first career NHL game. Mattias had one shot on goal and two hits in a 4-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Mattias had 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 19 games thus far this season for the Rochester Americans in the AHL before his call up. Mattias was the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.

Mattias is the seventh player to play for the Flyers Elite organization and later play in the NHL. Previous players include Kyle Cruiscuolo, Johnny Gaudreau, Kasperi Kapanen, Cayden Primeau, Eric Robinson and Philip Samuelsson.
