Flyers Elite Alums Tyler Boucher and Sam Lipkin Drafted in the 2021 NHL Draft
The 2021 NHL Draft featured two memorable moments for alums of our organization.
Tyler Boucher was drafted 10th overall by the Ottawa Senators. Tyler, who is the son of former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Brian Boucher, is the highest drafted player in Philadelphia Flyers Elite history. Previously, the highest drafted player in club history was Kasperi Kapanen, drafted 22nd overall in the 2014 NHL Draft.
Tyler played for our organization from Squirt Minor through Bantam Major. Tyler then played at Avon Old Farms Prep School in Connecticut before spending the last two years with the United States National Development Program. Tyler has committed to play for Boston University starting this Fall.
Later in the draft, Sam Lipkin was taken with the 31st pick in the 7th round (223rd overall) by the Arizona Coyotes. Sam played with our club for several seasons through his Bantam Minor year. This past season, Sam played for the Chicago Steel, who won the USHL championship.
With Tyler and Sam’s selections, Philadelphia Flyers Elite has now had 14 players drafted by NHL teams since 2009.
Congrats to both players and best of luck for continued success moving forward!
